happy thanxgiving!

Today is one of those days where i don’t understand how it’s not yet wednesday.

• holly awakened me at about 6:45
• i immediately took a shower–just to mix it up.  i wore clothes that match and pants with a button.
• we did a load of laundry (it’s still not folded and put away)
• jack woke up at about 7:15

• got holly dressed and fed
• we got to shop rite by 8:45 and STILL didn’t get a taxi, dammit!
• i put make up on in the parking lot.  is there any other way?
• i remembered to bring the green bags into shop rite
• we saved over 7 bux in coupons (every bit counts)
• we got to the stores to pick up dad’s tailored suit and buy some kid’s clothes by 10.
• i remembered to put the stroller in the car
• we had lunch
• we danced to mama mia
• holly and i did some work to get some things in the mail (coloring, stamping, etc.)
• we took a walk
• we made a holly approved pumpkin pie

 

• we wrapped presents for baby lauren
• we made dinner
• jack went to sleep at 3:30 and is rite now in the middle of a two hour nap.  he never does that.  god bless that swing.
• holly is bathed and watching a show b/c it’s only 5:30.
• i didn’t eat any bad food YET–the nite is young.
• most importantly, i tried to enjoy my babies.

 i wrote a long to do list (that is currently misplaced) and i’m curious to see how much got done. 

i’m having a tough time not seeing my parents.  they usually provide a much needed distraction for us all.  they also are very interested in the mundane details of our life.  (see above.)  also, tim put in 4 twelve hour days last week and this week isn’t looking much better.  hopefully my sanity will stay nearby.   if you see it, send it this way………..

i am a mom.

i truly believe i will get to the bottom of the pile of paper on my desk, will get the photos organized, ordered, and into albums, and even scrapbook them.

i am a mom.

i go to the store in my pajama pants and think no one notices because they are black.  the pants.  not the people.

i am a mom.

they notice.

i am a mom.

i wear my slippers too, but think it’s ok b/c there is a rubber sole.

i am a mom.

i put the vacuum away as you pull into the driveway.

i am a mom.

i always have corn on the floor.

i am a mom.

i think because i keep saying “i am a mom,” that makes this a poem.

i am a mom.

it doesn’t.

i am a mom.

i think i am funny with my poem reference, yet can almost see different women on my tv in black and white saying, “i am a mom.”  it’s a commercial for a disease or mother’s day or tissues or something of the like.  if the babies don’t sleep tonite, maybe i’ll LITERALLY see it.

i am the one who my babies want when they are tired, sick or stressed.

i am a mom.

sometimes i want to run away, but i don’t.  instead i eat candy corn mellowcreme pumkins. (47 cents at walmart today!)

i am beginning to chat with daisy, peena, jessie and zoe-ah–holly’s imaginary friends.

i am a mom.

i am thrilled when jack poops and sing songs about it.

i am a mom.

i’ve lost my sanity.

i am a mom.

i never had it.

i envy the variety of groundhog day

with tim have 4 consecutive 12 hour days, i’m not sure who ate when, who needs a bath, who pooped today, last time jack ate, last time holly did her nebulizer…….

i do know that i havent’ showered since tuesday.  no moves being made in that direction either.

my son is still not asleep and my husband not yet home.

i don’t know how i’m still awake, but i do know i am looking forward to tomorrow’s coffee.

i went into a time machine yesterday.  here is a picture of tim and dave as babies.

and holly yelling at oliver for knocking over a plant.

and what the hell is up with the doctors?  i get a call from holly’s allergist–yesterday and today:  “hi.  we’re calling to reschedule holly’s appointment for dec 17.  he won’t be in the office……………hi, we called yesterday.  this is the doctor.  jsut looking to reschedule holly’s appointment……….”

first of all, YOU are cancelling the appointment.  i will call you if i feel like it.

and the dentist i went to:   “hi.  jsut calling to confirm your appointment for tomorrow.  just call if you’re going to make it.”  and then tim didn’t call back and the dentist HIMSELF called and basically yelled at timmy for not calling him to say he WAS coming.

call if you;re GOING to make it?  no.  why do you think i have nothing better to do than call and say yes i’m coming.  i’ll call you if i’m NOT coming…….if i feel like it you pain in the ass!  you think you’re fancy because you have some letters in front of your name?  i’m not impressed.  relax yourself.

i need a drink.

God loves corn

it takes a lot of time and energy to get three people out of the house to get to sears for an 11am photo shoot where only 5 photos are snapped!  when we took jack last week, holly was supposed to be in them.  she decided against that and insisted that i be in them.  my state was not one for photos.   so we went today, and she cooperated a bit more, but not too much.  so we got one, but i wish the photographer would be a bit quicker with the flash.

later, as we had lunch, holly asked where God was.  not sure what prompted the line of questioning, but i answered with my standard, “everywhere.”  then she asked if he was inside her and i replied yes and indicated that He was in her heart.  then she asked if He was also in her stomach and should she give him some corn to which i replied, well, see the subject line.

holls is getting sick.  she has a clear runny nose, but napped on the way to party city.  when we arrived, i asked if she wanted to sleep or to go in, she answered, “sllep,” which is certainly a first.  as a result, she didn’t fall asleep until 8.  wow.  maybe she’ll sleep in.  fat chance.  we read stories in my bed and i was surprised to see how much jack paid attention.  he loved it.   i’ll have to incorporate that into my daily routine.  i guess that means i’ll have to establish a daily routine.  as we were going to sleep in my bed (with the light blaring) i was prolly just as tired and kept pinching her heiney and squeezing her.  holly picked her head  up off my chest and said, “GO TO SLEEP!”

so now, i will.
