35 years……..and they never had a fight!

Posted by melissaski on April 27, 2009

35 Years.
My Maniac Parents are married 35 years today. Some may think they are Frank and Estelle, and to the untrained eye, yes, they very well may be. They do a bit of bickering,
and sometimes even arguing, but they definitely care for each other very much. Whenever I thank my mom for all the help she gives with the kids, she always says, “And Pete too!”………..like I don’t know that Pete is the best!
And Pete will do anything for us all—he makes that abundantly clear daily. Always willing to help either of his adult children out and drive his wife everywhere (apparently, she had lost the ability to do it herself.)
Both of your children are in the beginning phases of our marriages, but we look at yours and can’t help but marvel: how have you not yet killed each other?
But really, you don’t hear often of people who are married as long as you are and still enjoy each other’s company like you do. I love that you travel the world together with your crew, that you take in plays, enjoy dinners, picnics, and dances.
I love you so much. You are absolutely the best. I’m not thrilled with the slideshow. My scanner stopped working, so I had some real beauts that I couldn’t get in there. next time! But you catch the drift.
Congratulations on your 35 years. Good Luck with the next 35.

Jessica Rose

Posted by melissaski on April 21, 2009

When i first met Jessica Rose, she was wearing a leopard print dancing school costume on her front step. she introduced herself to me although four years my junior.
i thought it amazing that she was allowed outside in her costume and certain that she would get in trouble when she was found out. but she didn’t.
and now here she is getting married.
wow.
i think often of her mom now that i have a cherub of my own who likes to wear costumes. and i let her wear them wherever she wants……shop rite, the mall, the library………i think nance was an awesome mom. she never yelled or lost her cool that i saw and she threw herself into everything her girls did: school, girl scouts, soccer, basketball……you name it.
and i am so jealous of the obvious bonds of sisterhood that jess shares with lauren mae and kathryn anna. awesome job on the slide show btw. so great. i am a sucker for a slide show. ( i can cry watching one even if i never clapped eyes on the stars) but yours was top of the line!
i have yet to see a bride be surprised at her shower and to hear the stories to get her there, (dinner ploy, invitation meetings, birthday dinner)…….it sounds like the family worked very hard (and alex!) and it actually paid off! so great.
you Muggs did a great job yesterday. a beautiful shower and a great time had by all. all the faces i haven’t seen in so long made it feel like a time machine, but your extended family as well always makes me feel welcome.
it has been too long.
after the wedding, we’ll have to get together and chill. i miss you guys.
